Half Marathon Training 6/29-7/5

I can’t believe it’s already July! New Hampshire made it through it’s first heat wave of the year, as well as some crazy storms to go along with it. I’m happy that it’s now cooler so I can enjoy some time outside without being covered in sweat!

Sunday 6/29: Rest, 24,264 steps. Worked breakfast and dinner

Monday 6/30: Ran 3.5 mi on the treadmill, 18,411 steps. Worked dinner. This run was pretty rough. I originally planned to do 6 miles, but I was simply so tired from work. My body was not cooperating with me at all.

Tuesday 7/1: Rest, 22,630 steps. Worked breakfast and dinner.

Wednesday 7/2: 6 miles, 65:00, 20,454 steps. Worked breakfast. The run was absolutely marvelous, and was just what I needed. I went out right after a storm, so while the humidity was still 98%, it was a bit more bearable. I did a simple out and back that involved some hills. I saw a deer right around mile 3 – which was also when I got a side stitch. I ran through it though and felt fine a couple of minutes later!

Thursday 7/3: Rest, 7,812 steps. I had the day off and it was my brother’s rehearsal wedding/dinner night.

Friday 7/4: 4 on the 4th race in Bridgton, Maine. 39:00. 28,047 steps. Worked dinner.
The race was a wonderful last minute decision! I can’t wait to write the recap for you all 🙂

Saturday 7/5: My brother’s wedding! I didn’t even wear my fitbit. It was a marvelous time!

Weekly miles: 13.5
June miles: 59.6

Looking back at my mileage, I am disappointed with the low number this week. However, I got two quality runs in with the time I was able to run. I look forward to getting out more this week! I plan on doing 4.5 miles on the trails tomorrow. I’m also going to be working a bit less (YAY!) so I will have more time and hopefully won’t always be so tired! I wanted to hit 60 miles in June, so I’ll take 59.6 as a victory.
