Training Log 12/29/14 – 1/4/15

Hello from Burlington! I just finished my last run of the week and finally have time to venture online while my boyfriend is at the gym. Yes, boyfriend. I love spending time with him but I never get online when I’m with him which means blogging takes a back seat though. But he makes me happy so I don’t mind. However, we are both big into fitness so my running has still been on schedule (mostly).

Monday: Rest

Tuesday: 5 miles in Plattsburgh, 50:00. I started slow but it ended up being a great, steady progression run from 10:28 down to 9:27.

Wednesday: 3 miles in Burlington, 30:30. My first time in Burlington involved hopelessly wandering around and trying not to get lost. I ended up finding where my half marathon will finish and found a few breweries. Oh and it was cold – very cold.


Thursday-Friday: travel and rest. I had all intentions to run Friday, but when I got to the gym it was closed. It was dark and super cold so I decided to call it off. I had a great New Years though!


Saturday: 5.75 miles, 1:01. 12 degrees and snow make for a very cold run. Heck, it was so cold my water bottle froze shut. I hate winter.

Sunday: 6 miles, 1:03. It was 40ish degrees in Burlington and a great day to run. I ventured around town and then ran 3.5 miles of the half marathon course. It was challenging to actually have to run some hills.

Weekly Miles: 19.75.

Total 2014 miles: 537

I missed 2.25 miles this week due to my missed run on Friday, but I think I’ll survive. After today’s run, my legs feel shot. I haven’t been using my foam roller much this week and my calves and IT Band are yelling at me for it. Thankfully I’ll be in Plattsburgh for most of next week so I can get back to my normal routine.

    • Me too! My boyfriend and I have to find time to work on our VT Brewery Passport. I finally tried Heady Topper last night – it is so good!


  1. We’re finally getting real winter here (I think it was 1 when I went to work this morning), so I’m honestly secretly a bit glad that I’m still injured. Getting back into running when it’s that cold out doesn’t sound like very much fun! That’s cool you’re able to check out the course for your half ahead of time.
