Happy Spring! Well, it doesn’t really feel like Spring here in New York, but the snow melted while I was gone last week so I can’t complain! Another week has come and gone, another where my body got the best of me a couple of times. But as always, I have to remind myself to be flexible and put everything in perspective…
Monday: 2.6 miles. This was supposed to be 10….but as soon as I got to the bottom of my hill, I knew my body wasn’t having it between tight calves and an angry tummy. I’m glad I listened to my body instead of forcing myself to do more miles and absolutely hating it.
Tuesday: skiing!

Wednesday: 3 miles. My mom’s treadmill doesn’t bother my legs like the ones at the gym do. I felt really good and would have kept going if it wasn’t time to go to dinner.
Thursday: 5 miles. Another good treadmill run. I wanted to get outside but not with the 20-45 mph winds we were having!

Saturday: 3.1 miles – Spring Fling 5K. Recap coming soon…let’s just say I wasn’t the smartest person going into this race.
Sunday: .5 miles, 2,000 m rowing, leg weights. I hopped on the treadmill at the student gym and my legs immediately weren’t having it so I didn’t bother. I’ll be doing my long run outside today, no matter how cold it is! I wore my new Skirt Sports Lionness skirt to the gym and LOVED IT! I can’t wait until it’s warm enough to wear it outside.

Total: 13.7 miles
Like I said, I didn’t do last week’s long run on Monday like planned (stupid body) and I’ll do yesterday’s today. So while my mileage is low, I know it’ll be higher next week with two long runs in it. I was disappointed in myself on Saturday at the 5K, but I’m still looking forward to hopefully setting a half marathon PR in less than 3 weeks!
Who else had a cold, windy start to spring?
Its been a cold start to spring here too! At least today the sun is shining…that always helps! I think your body is just forcing you to save your good runs for when the weather is nice out:)

We actually got a little snow today, though it thankfully didn’t stick. That’s crazy how fast you go while skiing! I think this post made me more afraid to try it. Good for you for listening to your body. Running with an angry tummy is never ever a good choice!
