The first week of May sure was a good one. I felt great running this week, and was so excited to do 3 runs with other people! (More on that later). Today’s just a quick recap – especially because I fail at taking pictures at my workouts – which is something I hope to improve on this summer! I also need to head to school to get ready for the second of 2 finals weeks. Break is almost here!
Monday: 6.3 miles of rolling hills. It was HOT so I went to the bay where I would hopefully get a breeze from the lake. I didn’t expect the hills but they really weren’t too bad. I want to keep doing this loop every week or two to see how I improve!
Tuesday: 1.82 mile walk/run and weights (increased all resistances). One of my friends approached me about wanting to run, and I am thrilled to help her out with some motivation and someone to go out with her.
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: 3.5 miles: 4×400 with 400 recovery, .75 WU and CD. I felt really good with my intervals, but I did a bad job of timing them so I don’t know the paces. I’m pretty motivated to do track work every week or so, and to mix in tempo runs/hill work as well throughout the week!
Friday: 1.82 mile walk/run with my friend again.
Saturday: 12.5 miles with a couple of running buddies. What started out as a “fun run” for work has turned into two great running friends that I no longer care to be paid to run with. We had a lot of fun. This was one girl’s longest run yet and I was so proud of her for killing it!
Sunday: Rest and LOTS OF STUDYING
Weekly total: 25.94 miles
I’m pretty stoked about that weekly mileage, and I feel great after it. I felt so fresh during my long run yesterday, It really boosted my confidence and made me realize how much endurance I have developed. The marathon bug hit me again on Friday, and raged after my run on Saturday. I hope to do 15ish miles next weekend, so we’ll see how I feel about that…then maybe I’ll finally sign up for one…
So glad that your running is going so well! It would be so exciting if you signed up for a full!
